First time in New York. Where to begin?

First time in New York. Where to begin?

Welcome to Manhattan photo

 New York is a huge metropolis, the history of which has evolved over the centuries. And each period left its mark.
The land, discovered by the Dutch in 1609 and originally called New Amsterdam, still has streets reminiscent of its history. In the southern part of Manhattan, where New York began, you can still find houses in the classic Dutch style among the skyscrapers.

A large number of immigrants who came to Novaya Zemlya in search of a better life contributed to the development and infrastructure of the city. And up to the present moment there are houses, streets and even quarters where Jews, Chinese, Europeans lived.

New York is the unofficial capital of the United States and the most visited city in the United States. And this is not surprising. The number of attractions, entertainment, museums, theaters, sports and entertainment events held in New York is simply huge!

There is life there every day! Something is constantly happening - only time and locations change.

The city of New York itself consists of five districts or, as they are called, boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. Despite this, the phrase “see New York” most often means just “see Manhattan”. Since it was from this island that the history of New York began and it is here that the most interesting places and attractions are located.

Usually, tourists who come to New York, the main question is how to see and do as much as possible in the available time. This is a city-movement, a city-event. And relaxation in this metropolis is just like a short break before the next stage of exploration and knowledge of Big Apple City.

There are several options for exploring New York:
- you can see the city during a sightseeing tour with a guide;
- you can take a tour of the sights of New York on a double-decker bus (double-decker)
- you can independently lay routes and explore the city, choosing places that are interesting for you.

The first option is preferable if you do not understand and speak English well, or if you find it difficult / reluctant to figure out on your own what is where and how to get there. In this case, of course, it is convenient - you paid, came at the appointed time to the appointed place (or even more convenient, you were taken from your own hotel) and you enjoy your vacation, contemplating the city and listening to the guide's stories. Regarding guided tours, there are enough offers on the Internet, including excursions in Russian. Look, study, choose what you like.

If you prefer exploring the city on your own, then the tour option on double-decker buses (double deckers) is very convenient.

If you already have an idea about New York and want to explore it in more detail, or, in principle, do not like restrictions and dependence (Hop-on Hop-off bus stops are also a little tied), the option of independent movement around New York is the most once.

There are also various possibilities here.
