Among the world-famous diving sites, the Great Barrier Reef deserves special attention, striking the imagination of even experienced divers with a variety of underwater fauna. A description of this natural wonder can be found in any encyclopedia, but a real diver must not only see everything with his own eyes, butcapture ocean beauty on camera . In addition to a huge number of coral reefs, the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef impresses with a variety of bright tropical fish, shellfish, spongy and endangered species of marine animals. For example, here you can see a sea cow, rare species of sea turtles and majestic humpback whales. The latter sail to the Great Barrier Reef in August-November from Antarctica to give birth to offspring. October-November is considered the most favorable period for diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and divers of any skill level can explore the underwater world here.

In the Caribbean Sea is the pearl of the Dominican Republic, the island of Catalina, known to divers all over the world. The territory of the island is a national reserve, so fishing is prohibited here. The island, surrounded by coral reefs, is visited not only by beach lovers, but by explorers of the underwater depths. In addition to beach holidays and diving, you can walk along the steep streets with colonial-style houses and visit the casino. The coastline of the island is replete with dive sites, of which there are about fifty!

At the foot of the cliff, the water depth is about 39 meters, and in shallow water you can admire the sunken schooner Diosa del Mar, three dozen meters long. Near Catalina Island there is an underwater museum of the pirate Kidd, the most greedy and cruel filibuster in the Caribbean. The holiday season on Catalina Island begins in early May and lasts until mid-autumn. In clear windless weather, you can dive here with an ordinary mask and admire the richness of the underwater world without bulky equipment.
