Weather "flying" and "non-flying"

Weather "flying" and "non-flying"

We say: "well, again, non-flying weather ." And what is " non-flying " ? And, in contrast, what is "flying"? Well, everything is clear from the flight. Flying weather - when aircraft can fly without danger to pilots and passengers. But there are such meteorological conditions when, even according to instruments, it is too risky to land a plane: heavy rain, thunderstorms, heavy snowfall, side wind exceeding a certain threshold, icing on the runway. When such conditions occur, airport controllers prohibit landings and takeoffs, and the airport itself stops receiving aircraft.

There is bad weatherdue to rather unusual natural factors. Everyone remembers the recent eruption of the volcano with the unpronounceable name Hvannadalshnukur in Iceland in April 2010. Then so many abrasive particles of volcanic ash entered the atmosphere that all air traffic was closed throughout Europe for five days.

In other cases, modern instruments successfully cope with takeoff and landing , making the pilot's participation in this process purely controlling.

     Safe flights to you!
