Overview of unusual museums of the world (part I)

In fairness, it should be said that most tourists do not have much interest in museums. The fact is that vacationers are not always ready to accept the amount of information that literally falls on them from the mouth of a guide. Another thing is if the museum belongs to the category of unusual and its visit is associated with the most unexpected surprises.

Almost any person is interested in erotica and everything related to sexual relations. The Red Lantern Street is known far beyond the borders of Amsterdam, but only a few people know that the Museum of Erotica is located here. In addition to thematic expositions, visitors can see a private booth of a representative of an ancient profession with a figure of a woman made of wax and attend a screening of the banned film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. By the way, right in the museum you can buy original and practical souvenirs of a sexual nature.
There is another museum in Amsterdam that can quite rightly be called unique. In the Marijuana Museum, which resembles an ordinary store, you can find out as much information about this ancient plant as possible. Since ancient times, people have made fabrics, paper and medicines from hemp, used it as fuel and even food. The museum presents books describing various hemp recipes, beautiful clothes made from hemp fabric, smoking pipes, hookahs, etc.

The Museum of Magicians opened in the capital of the Czech Republic - Prague relatively recently. This amazing museum is located in the Mala Staran area and is dedicated to magic and alchemy. By the way, the museum is open in the house where the alchemist Kelly lived during the reign of Rudolph II, and in the attic of the building there is a laboratory of the famous master. The king wanted to receive gold from the alchemist and even awarded him a baronial title, but after vain expectations, he ordered Kelly to be imprisoned.

In Palermo (Italy) are the famous burial catacombs of the Capuchins. The main feature of this place is the storage of the deceased aristocrats, people from noble families and monks in the public domain and the absence of their decomposition. Scientists have found that the bodies are preserved due to the characteristics of the atmosphere and soil in the catacombs. In addition, the preservation of the bodies was affected by special procedures carried out after the death of a person. First, the body of the deceased was kept in a special room for 8 months to dry it. Then he was rubbed with vinegar and, dressed in clothes, hung on the wall of a certain corridor. For example, the body of a virgin was placed on the wall of the Corridor of Virgins, a monk - of the Corridor of a monk, etc.
