Treasures of Turkey: Catal Huyuk

Treasures of Turkey: Catal Huyuk

Chatal Huyuk is perhaps the oldest city in the world.

The resorts  that our compatriots love are far from all that Turkey is rich in . Since ancient times, people have settled in these parts, and each civilization left behind some kind of legacy, adding its own colors to the multicolor of modern Turkey . One of the most striking pearls in a Turkish necklace is Chatal Huyuk . This is a Neolithic settlement located 60 kilometers southeast of the city of Konya. Chatal Huyuk is possibly the oldest city in the world.

Gray-haired millennia look at tourists from time-worn stones: it's no joke, these ruins are almost ten thousand years old! There were no Egyptian pyramids yet, wild Europe was covered with impenetrable forests, and the inhabitantsChatal-Hyuyuk already built houses and knew how to work metal.
So far, archaeologists have unearthed only a tenth of the ruins, but the discoveries made and interesting finds would be more than enough for several ancient cities.

Catal Huyuk is open to visitors all year round, and experienced guides will show you the most interesting excavation sites.

In 2012, the international organization UNESCO included Chatal Huyuk in the list of world heritage sites.
