Palma de Mallorca - the capital of the Balearic Islands

Palma de Mallorca - the capital of the Balearic Islands

Palma de Mallorca Balearic Islands
Mallorca island, Spain
“In November 1838, we arrived in Palma, where the heat was reminiscent of our June. Two weeks before this time, when we left Paris, severe cold had already set in - the first signs of winter. And now, to our great joy, our enemy winter was over and we were even more delighted looking at the city, so different from other cities, its unique buildings of aesthetic and historical value.
However, we soon had to look for accommodation, and we suddenly realized that the Spaniards, who recommended Mallorca to us as a very hospitable country with unlimited possibilities, were deeply mistaken about this themselves and misled us. Being in close proximity to civilized Europe, we did not expect to face the problem of finding the most ordinary hotel. The lack of rental housing for visitors in Mallorca spoke for itself - everything here was different from the rest of the world ... "

So George Sand wrote about Palma de Mallorca in his work "Winter in Mallorca", which visited it for the first time with Chopin in 1838.
More than one and a half hundred years have passed since then, and cozy hotels, comfortable conditions, gorgeous beaches and developed infrastructure have been added to the uniqueness and uniqueness of Palma. And now we can say with confidence that today Palma is a tourist paradise, which is admired by thousands of guests who have been here. And for some, it sinks into the soul so much that they buy real estate for themselves, as, for example, tennis player Rafael Nadal or actor Michael Douglas did.

Mallorca  is one of the beautiful Balearic Islands of many-sided Spain!
The modern name of the island of Mallorca is a modified name  Balearis Major  ( "Main" from Balearic ), which was used in their language by the Romans.
Stunning landscapes, a variety of beaches (from tiny bays for a couple of sunbeds to kilometer-long sandy strips), comfortable weather and rich history attract thousands of tourists every year. Here you can find a secluded place for a romantic getaway, and conditions and entertainment for a family vacation, and a vibrant nightlife. And what can we say about local beauties, both natural and architectural!
You can walk, travel and watch more than one day!
