Valentine's Day: Romantic Weekend

Valentine's Day: Romantic Weekend

A bright and sensual holiday, Valentine's Day is a great occasion to strengthen relationships with your loved one, and at the same time gain new experiences by visiting the most romantic places on our planet.

There is hardly a person who does not dream of great love, endless devotion and happiness. In sunny Italy there is a beautiful town of Verona, where thousands of lovers from all over the world flock every year. It is here that the castle is located with the famous balcony of Romeo and Juliet, the fictional characters of the greatest work of William Shakespeare. There is a belief that the letter left under the balcony of the main characters of the tragedy is a kind of guarantee of joint happiness and true love. And you need to leave a letter on Valentine's Day.

In Spain , there is another legendary place - the Bridge of Sighs in Venice. The name of the bridge is absolutely not connected with romance, rather the opposite. In ancient times, prisoners were led along the bridge, who sighed heavily, looking around the city canals and buildings with a farewell glance. When the prison closed, another legend was born, according to which the kiss of lovers under the bridge promises a quick marriage and a happy marriage.

Few people know that until the beginning of the 90s, Czechs celebrated Valentine's Day on May 1, and not on February 14. Prague is traditionally considered the capital of lovers in the Czech Republic . In this ancient city, there are many cozy places for romantic walks and dinners. On the legendary Charles Bridge, you can see couples kissing not only on Valentine's Day. There is a belief that lovers who kiss on this bridge will certainly become happy. Moreover, the kiss must be long so that happiness lasts forever.

"Island of Lovers" - this is how the Greek Santorini is called . According to legend, a marriage made on the island is simply doomed to happiness. There is one remarkable place on the island of lovers - the rock of Skaros, where in ancient times the residence of the rulers of Saros was located. At sunset, lovers must climb to the top of the rock, touch the stone and make a wish. However, climbing Saros is quite difficult, which, however, is not so important for truly loving people.

Admirers of extreme sports can go to the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Local belief says that lovers who want to keep their passions alive for the rest of their lives should kiss the stone sphinx, installed on the grave of Oscar Wilde. By the way, the well-known French journalist Victor Noir rests in the same cemetery, on whose grave there is a statue. There is a legend that a man who touches the corresponding organ of the statue will retain male power until old age. True or not, but the local authorities imposed a fine for such behavior, so large is the number of people who want to get a "guarantee" of a tireless lover.

A trip for two will allow you to express your feelings for each other and will be remembered as the most romantic event in life.
