Austria: Ischgl and Sölden

Every year, a huge number of tourists, both professionals and beginners, rest in the ski resorts of Austria. On the slopes of the majestic Alps, there are more than 2,000 km of ski slopes of various levels of difficulty, and the high level of service in hotels and plenty of entertainment will satisfy even the most demanding traveler.

The ski resort of Ischgl attracts fans of skiing and snowboarding. In just half a century, this resort has managed to take pride of place among the most famous ski resorts in the world. It is hard to believe that in 1960, on the site of a fashionable resort, there was a mountain village of the same name - the starting point of the ski route of the famous Austrian winter recreation center

Classical Silvretta. Modern Ischgl is quite rightly considered the most prestigious ski resort in Austria and is popular all over the world.

The obvious advantage of this resort is the presence of underground escalators that quickly deliver high-class hotel guests to the ski lifts. The total length of the pistes of the largest ski area is 230 kilometers. The tracks are laid in such a way that skiers can go around the entire area without ever taking off their skis. The resort of Ischgl does not have too steep slopes, but there are 45 kilometers of black, 127 kilometers of red and 38 kilometers of blue slopes, served by 42 lifts. In addition, cross-country skiing tracks are equipped here, and in the valleys you can ride karvas. The best time to visit the resort is the end of November, the beginning of May.

One of the most popular ski resorts in Austria is Sölden, located 84 km from Innsbruck. There are two glaciers here, which make the resort ideal for both beginners and professional skiers. Those wishing to master mountain skiing will find the Tiffebach Glacier suitable, while experienced skiers will enjoy the steep and difficult slopes on the Rettenbach Glacier. In addition to skiing, fans of snowboarding and freestyle come to the Sölden resort. The resort also has 16 kilometers of cross-country skiing trails and a five-kilometre sledge track. Blue (51 km), red (61 km) and black (31 km) slopes serve 19 chair lifts, 7 cabin lifts and 8 drag lifts. Vacationers can go for walks along special routes.

The Sölden resort has a Freizeit Arena complex with a gym, bowling, tennis courts, a Finnish sauna, an outdoor skating rink and a swimming pool. The tourist season in the resort lasts from October to early May.
