Scandinavian Cruises: Norwegian Fjords

Scandinavian Cruises: Norwegian Fjords

If you are tired of traveling around Europe and hot Asian countries, go on a memorable cruise through the unique Norwegian fjords.

Most cruises in Scandinaviastart from Bergen (Norway). On the city's embankment, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, you can admire the multi-colored houses on three floors, on the facades of which there are images of animals and figures of people. Citizens used such decorations to indicate their belonging to a particular guild. Among the interesting objects, the Hanseatic Museum deserves attention with interesting expositions of kitchen utensils, furniture and antiques from the time of the existence of the Hanseatic League. On the roof of the Rosenkats tower, built in the 13th century, there is an observation deck, which is reached by a narrow spiral staircase. From here you can admire the most beautiful panorama of Bergen.

On the plate of the monument "Sculpture of Man" you can see the instructive inscription "No one can be considered what you see." Local residents call this sculpture at the Central Bank differently: a beggar, a homeless person, a beggar, etc. However, the local church, which donated the sculpture to the city, wanted to convey to people that any of us, first of all, is a Human, despite the social status and level of prosperity.

There are several shopping streets in Bergen where you can go shopping. In addition, there are large shopping centers and grocery supermarkets where you can buy traditional Norwegian souvenirs, smoked fish, goat cheese, whale meat, etc.

After experiencing Bergen, passengers return to the cruise ship to travel tojourney through the norwegian fjords. Any cruise itinerary includes a visit to the Geiranger Fjord, two dozen kilometers long and with beautiful landscapes. Admirers of kayaking, rafting and fishing come here. You can admire the beautiful nature from the top of the Fludalsjuvet cliff. Especially popular among connoisseurs of natural attractions are the waterfalls "Bridal Veil" and "Seven Sisters". The history of the region can be found in the Geirangerfjord Museum.

The main attraction of Lysefjord is the Preikestolen rock. Translated from Norwegian, the name of the rock sounds like "Pulpit". In the crevice of the Kjerag rock, a huge Kjeragbolten stone is stuck, which can only be reached by experienced climbers.

During the cruise, passengers of the ship must visit the Sognefürd, the second longest in the world. After landing on land, tourists go to small coastal villages, from where fascinating excursions begin to the glacier with an ice cave and to the Nigardsbreen National Park.
