Italy hotels

In terms of the number of hotels and inns, Italy ranks second in the world. They are mainly concentrated in the center of the country and are often unclaimed. This lack of demand for rooms in the center of Italy does not in the least affect their cost. Room prices in hotels in Italy are much higher than in neighboring countries. This "paradox" can be explained by the large taxes on the tourism business in the country and the highly developed private hotel sector.

The general level of hotel services deserves, of course, praise, but the quality of these services in some hotels can cause complete misunderstanding and bewilderment. Also, due to high land prices, Italian hotels tend to have very limited grounds. In Italy, it's entirely possible to open a hotel door and find yourself on the pavement of a street. Choosing a hotel in this country is like a lottery, as the number of stars is not determined correctly, and the actual situation in the hotel may deviate significantly from the desired level.
A huge part of the hotel fund is equipped only with a shower. So, if you want to have a bath, then you need to clarify this fact in advance. Many hotels also do not have swimming pools, and oddly enough, the Italians consider this quite normal.

In ordinary Italian hotels, only breakfast is included in the room rate. Often prices are announced without food at all. Half board and board in Italy can only be found in expensive hotels. Tourists are always advised to clarify the nuances about food before the trip.
In Italy, in addition to standard hotels, there are also day hotels, which are usually located near airports and train stations. In such hotels, you can only put yourself in order (laundry, dry cleaning and hairdresser services are offered), after long-term wanderings.

There are also private hotels in the country called Lokands. Standard Lokanda is designed for only a couple of residents. There is a small dining room where you can eat dishes prepared by the owners themselves.
Boarding houses are always more expensive than private hotels, but the quality of services in boarding houses is somewhat higher.

Usually, Pensions and Lokandas have from one to three stars.
