1. Svityaz is the deepest lake of natural origin in Ukraine . The greatest depth of Svityaz exceeds 58 meters.

2. Svityaz feeds only on groundwater - not a single river flows into it.

3. Svityaz is called "Ukrainian Baikal" , because it is so clean that the sandy bottom can be seen up to eight meters. In windy weather, the waves reach a height of several meters.

4. There is a small picturesque island on Svityaz . It is called the "Island of Lovers". And also - the Island of Cosmonauts, because in Soviet times there was a recreation center for Soviet cosmonauts.

5. Water in Svityaz contains silver and glycerin, which promotes wound healing and has a beneficial effect on the skin. Once upon a time, water from the lake was taken to Poland for girls from wealthy families to take cosmetic baths.
