St. Paul's Bay (Rhodes, Greece)
We have already reviewed such interesting places in Rhodes as the Old Town and Prasonisi . These are the northern and southern parts of the island, respectively.
Now I propose to move to the east coast of this wonderful Greek island. The most beautiful bay of St. Paul, which is located next to the "White Village" of Lindos, is a favorite place for both tourists and local Greeks.

According to legend, the ship of St. Paul on its way to Jerusalem got into a storm, lost control and could crash on the rocks at any moment. Saint Paul began to pray and asked the Lord to shelter his ship from the storm. And then a passage opened among the rocks, behind which was a small quiet bay. The ship entered this bay and calmly waited out the storm. Here Paul also began to preach his sermons. Since then, it has been called St. Paul's Bay.

On the other side of the bay is the Acropolis of Lindos - in some ways the history of the city in stone. This Acropolis is the oldest in Greece and is considered the second after the Athenian! It is surrounded by a battlement wall, which was built much later by the Knights of St. John.
In ancient Greek times, a temple was built on the rock to the goddess Athena Lindi, which, according to legend, was visited by Alexander the Great during his campaigns.
