Traveler in Bulgaria

Choose comfortable shoes and an adventurous mood when you go with your family to Bulgaria. This Balkan country is somewhat of an unusual destination, but that just makes the trip feel like a lot of exploration!

Museumko, Sofia

The largest children's museum and science center in Bulgaria, designed to fill your family's time with meaningful and fun entertainment. You and your kids can play and learn at the same time as you explore the Science Park, Nature World, Space Chase, Paleontology, Inventions and other museum areas, or choose from a variety of art and science workshops.

Since Muzeiko is located a bit away from the center of Sofia, you can take the metro to the GM Dimitrov station.

Planetarium and Children's Railway, Plovdiv

You don't have to travel into outer space to see what's out there. Just plan a day or two in Plovdiv and visit its brand new Planetarium. The exposition is located in the building of the Museum of Natural History. To arrange a showing in your preferred language, you need to contact the museum in advance, but the effort is well worth it.

After your space journey, return to Earth and enjoy the beauty of Plovdiv. The city is famous for its hills. You can climb them to see a beautiful panorama, or if you prefer walking, you can take the children's railway, which will take you to the top of the Youth Hill. It's a specially designed mini train that rises through the trees and takes you through the tunnel. At the final stop on the hill, a short pause for a photo.

Palace, Balchik

Here you can pretend to be royalty and visit your property on the Black Sea coast - Balchik Palace. This palace was built by the Romanian Queen Maria because she loved the coastal region of Balchik and often visited it in the summer. Inside the palace there is a large botanical garden where you can walk among exotic flowers and cacti. You can visit its various buildings and learn the amazing history of this beautiful place.
An interesting fact: they say that Queen Mary wanted to have seals in her palace, so she brought several copies with her. Once they managed to escape from the palace - this is how a seal colony was founded on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.

Silver Reserve

This UNESCO protected site is located on the banks of the Danube River and consists of a vast wetland area with hundreds of species of animals, birds and fish. Start your visit at the Information Center where you can watch live video feeds from the nests of some rare birds and learn interesting wildlife facts. Then head out to explore the lake with marked trails and birdwatching.
